ToothPaste Dilemma

Updated: Dec 28, 2022

Toothpaste Problem!

Why does toothpaste come in a box?

Toothpaste is used by two-thirds of the world’s population on a daily basis. The box makes it more expensive and a big inconvenience for the makers and consumers, and the only thing we do with it is to throw it away. Then why? what's the point?! People use almost 90,000,000 in Europe alone.

But it is recyclable which means it's perfectly fine right?

This is not the case because the process of recycling requires an enormous amount of energy like shredding.

There's isn't much need so why keep them when their fate is to just end up in the trash? Boxes should not be considered while making toothpaste.

Research shows: ¨Toothpaste comes in a box because it looks better¨.

What can we do?

Step1: Buy only Toothpaste that comes without a box, I know it's hard, but if we all do it, it will be hard only for a short time.

Step 2: Spread the word, share this information, we can buy toothpastes everywhere without generating billions of tons of unnecessary garbage.

Step 3: Try to use well known brands because these brands are approved by US Department of Health and Human Services

(DHHS) which give an approval that this product is safe for use and the package is not toxic.
